Arm Lift and Reduction
An operation to reduce the size of the upper arm by subtracting skin and fat .
The upper arm (between the shoulder and elbow) is an area of the body where fat is stored. Very large arms create a problem when it comes to wearing clothing with sleeves. The arms simply do not fit comfortably in the sleeves of the blouse or jacket. In these cases, reduction by way of liposuction can be very helpful. The other upper arm problem is excessively flabby arm skin. This condition may occur after significant weight loss, or with advancing age. This condition is best treated by an arm lift. In this instance, skin is subtracted from the arm area leaving a discrete scar on the backside of the arm. Occasionally both liposuction and skin subtraction are needed to control a large and flabby arm.
